Privacy policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Cycle Laundry LLC (“Cycle,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Cycle mobile app, the Cycle Pro app for service providers, and cyclelaundry.com (together, the “Services”).

Information we collect

Information you give us

Account and contact information. Your name, email address, phone number, and password when you create an account. We verify your phone number by sending you a code.
Addresses. Pickup and delivery addresses you enter or select.
Order details. Service type, bag counts, special handling instructions, and order history.
Photos. Images you choose to attach, for example to a profile or a report about an order. We access your camera or photo library only after you grant permission, and only when you use a feature that needs it.
Messages. Content you send through in-app chat with Cycle or with a service provider.
Service provider information. If you use Cycle Pro, additional details needed to accept work and receive payouts, including identity and payout details collected by our payments processor.

Information collected automatically

Location. With your permission, we collect your device’s location while you are using the app to suggest nearby addresses and to support pickup and delivery. We do not track your location in the background. You can withdraw this permission at any time in your device settings.
Address search. When you type an address, what you type is sent to Google Places to return suggestions.
Device and usage information. Device model, operating system version, app version, and a push notification token.
Diagnostics. Crash and performance data used to find and fix problems.

Payment information

Payments are processed by Stripe. Card numbers are collected by Stripe directly and are not stored on our servers. We receive limited details such as the card brand, the last four digits, and whether a charge succeeded. Service provider payouts run through Stripe Connect. Stripe’s handling of this information is governed by its own privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy.

To create and manage your account, and to verify your phone number
To schedule, route, fulfill, and deliver laundry orders
To process payments and pay service providers
To send order status updates by push notification, SMS, or email
To provide customer support and respond to reports about an order
To detect fraud, enforce our terms, and keep the Services secure
To fix bugs, measure reliability, and improve the Services
To comply with legal obligations

How we share information

With service providers who fulfill your order. A contractor accepting your order receives the information needed to complete it, including your first name, pickup and delivery address, and order details.
With vendors who operate the Services on our behalf. Google (Firebase for authentication, database, file storage, and push notifications; Google Maps and Google Places for maps and address lookup) and Stripe (payments and payouts).
For legal reasons. When we believe disclosure is required by law, or is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Cycle, our users, or the public.
In a business transfer. If Cycle is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Permissions the apps request

Location (while using the app) – to suggest and confirm pickup and delivery addresses
Camera and photo library – only when you attach a photo
Notifications – to send order status updates

Each permission is optional. Declining one limits the related feature but does not prevent you from using the rest of the app.

Data retention

We keep account and order information for as long as your account is active and afterward as needed to complete transactions, resolve disputes, comply with tax and legal obligations, and enforce our agreements. You can ask us to delete your account and we will delete or de-identify your information except where we are required to retain it.

Security

Information is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored with our vendors under their security controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Your choices and rights

Review and update your account information in the app
Turn location, camera, photo, or notification permissions on or off in your device settings
Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
Request correction or deletion of your personal information
Ask questions about how your information is handled

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of them. To make a request, contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity before we can act.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date above, and for significant changes we will provide notice in the app or by email.
